Swine Flu - H1N1
Swine Flu, Also called H1N1. A new flu disease that some say is an Emergency and we need to take action now! Others say this is being Taken WAY to far and needs to be thought over more before it is declared a Disaster. Personally I think that the government is using this as a scare tactic and i believe its making them millions of more dollars. I was said to have H1N1 so i believe i would be a good person who has first hand knowledge to tell you what the swine flu really is. Well... At first i started off just with a soar throat, and over the next 2 days it became much worse. My body ached all over and i even had a hard time standing up because i became so dizzy, I slept alot and had a hard time eating. That is it really. To me it was just the flu. But that is my idea. What do you think about the swine flu. Should we declare ourselves in a state of disaster or should we just relax about this whole controversy?

Eric - I agree that H1N1 has become a bigger deal than necessary. Thank the world media for that one. However, don't forget that people die every year from the flu.
ReplyDeleteAlthough I can not speak first hand as I have not had H1N1, someone I love dearly did have it. I can tell you he was very sick and it was worse than just the flu.
For people who have pre-existing health issues , this flu can be deadly so I do believe that there is some responsibility of the gov't to get information out to people
Ich werde mich impfen lassen weil ich im Krankenhaus arbeite.Weiß aber nicht ob es nur Panikmache ist!
ReplyDeleteI kind of half agree with Paula. The situation has been a little exaggerated. I also know that the normal flu kills thousands of people per year and that it has many variations....this is probably just another one....
ReplyDeleteMy family has all had a bad case of the flu this year and it could even be h1n1.... we all survived it.
My mother always told me...what doesn't kill you makes you stronger...so Iam glad you are stronger.
Thanks for sharing your story.
First Eric. I like your blog. Debating is an honorable past time. You just might make a great congressman... think about it!
ReplyDeleteH1N1... is it bad... well coming from someone with a heart problem and husband that has just finished cancer treatments yes... I believe for some yes... but a state of emergency? Sounds more like a great sound bite for the evening news. My thoughts are sounds bites ALWAYS try to divert you from the REAL issues.... so what do YOU think the real issues being looked over are?.....
Wow, well hi! First of all, great blog idea. I have a 16 yr old daughter that likes to debate issues as well, and I love having a teenager around that has a brain and isn't afraid to use it, so kudos to you on your new blog!
ReplyDeleteI agree with Paula and Linda both! I do not like the sensationalism that has been provoked my the media, BUT I feel as if this is something we should be concerned about...if not for the virus itself...then perhaps for the circumstances surrounding it. Makes ya wonder.
Yeah i agree with you all in ways. And thanks for the compliment Linda and Tanyia! Yeah im 15 and the *weird* kid at school so i think doing this proves to people i have thoughts and feelings toward things. And i LOVE when i come on and see that people have left posts! And Linda, what i see being looked over is the withdrawl of more troops. (if im reading your question right) It seems that by making H1N1 seem like a huge deal it will divert peoples minds away from the war. Im not speaking for all people but alot who dont have anyone close in the war, I think they would be much more worried about themselves being sick rather then the usa building a bigger war that hasnt seemed to get us very far yet. But then again people who are servering in the war or people who the war has hit home in some way i think that they'd look closer to the withdrawl of more troops then then H1N1. So im not really sure. If i made any sence at all there?
ReplyDeletei have been wondering for several days if i have h1n1, but have felt to sick to deal with drs office... my point being... it all becomes much more compelling when you think you are affected personally... i keep telling myself, no fever, no swine flu... my 18 yo daughter blogs and i love her posts... she is now happy she has done, keep it up
